The Tiki Rockhoppers...

...are a Belgian Surf & Surfabilly trio dedicated to bringing the spirit of classic surf music back to life. Combining twangy guitars, driving rhythms, vintage vibes, Reverb Drips and a touch of rock 'n' roll attitude, the band delivers an energetic musical journey inspired by the golden era of instrumental guitar music.

The band is led by guitarist Jürgen "J.D. Delmar" Demeyere, whose distinctive guitar style forms the heart of The Tiki Rockhoppers' sound. Alongside bassist Rudy "Clint" Vandamme and drummer Marc "Goetsie" Roose, the trio creates a powerful blend of authentic surf instrumentals, Surfabilly grooves, and original compositions.

Band leader J.D. Delmar brings a wealth of international experience to the project. 

In 2014, J.D. received the "Los Angeles Academy Music Award" for Best Instrumental Album, earning international recognition for his guitar-driven work. Throughout his career, he has collaborated and performed with artists such as Steward Barnes (UK), Bobbejaan Schoepen, Bobby Setter, Bandit, Jimmy Lawton (USA), Wayne Parham (USA), De Planckaerts, Margriet Hermans, Ronny Mosuse, and has appeared in productions for VRT and VTM television programs.

At the core of the band lies a remarkable musical partnership. J.D. Delmar and Clint have been playing together for more than 40 years, sharing countless stages, bands, recordings, and musical adventures. Their decades-long friendship and musical chemistry provide the foundation upon which The Tiki Rockhoppers were built.

Completing the trio is drummer Marc "Goetsie" Roose, who over the years has become much more than a fellow musician. Today, he is proudly considered part of the band's extended Tiki family, contributing his solid groove, enthusiasm, and unmistakable personality to every performance.

Beyond performing the classics, J.D. Delmar is also the principal composer behind The Tiki Rockhoppers' original material. His self-penned instrumental compositions allow the band to develop a distinctive musical identity of their own, blending Surf Rock, Surfabilly, and Surf Noir into a unique and recognizable sound. These original works, combined with carefully selected surf classics, create a show that is both authentic and refreshingly original.

Inspired by legendary acts such as The Ventures, Dick Dale, Link Wray, The Surfaris, The Atlantics, Messer Chups, The 5,6,7,8's , etc....The Tiki Rockhoppers combine authentic surf traditions with their own contemporary energy!

With decades of professional stage experience, The Tiki Rockhoppers have performed on stages large and small, in Belgium , France, The Netherlands, UK and abroad, always delivering a soundtrack filled with roaring waves, vintage guitars, tiki culture, and the unmistakable sound of Surf & Surfabilly.
